The new Tivoli Cross-Site for Deployment product builds on Castanet's capabilities and provides customers with application deployment across the Internet for the extended enterprise, including suppliers, distributors and customers.
Said Martin Neath, senior vice president of Tivoli's Product Group: "We have been pleased with the original Marimba reseller relationship and are excited to move this relationship forward into an OEM partnership."

Kim Polese, president and CEO of Marimba, said the partnership combines Marimba's Internet and extended enterprise expertise in application management with Tivoli's vision of managing Internet e-commerce.
The Tivoli Cross-Site suite is comprised of three product offerings: Tivoli Cross-Site for Deployment, Tivoli Cross-Site for Availability and Tivoli Cross-Site for Security. Marimba's Castanet technology will serve as the basis of the Tivoli Cross-Site for Deployment product. Product integration is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 1998. Tivoli will market and sell Tivoli Cross-Site for Deployment as a component of the family of products, as well as a stand-alone product.
