Netscape Unveils mozilla.org
September 8th, 2008
The resource is to become the focal point for developers looking to modify and redistribute the Netscape client source code, the company said.
Open as of yesterday, the site will provide a central contact point for the developer community by encouraging users to download the free client source code, make and post enhancements to the code, take part in discussions, and spread Communicator-related information.
Netscape previously announced plans to make the code for Netscape Communicator 5.0 freely available to developers later this quarter when the first developer release of the product becomes available.
The mozilla.org Web site can also be accessed via Netscape's DevEdge Online Web site.
